Sunrise

One day I went outside to see the sunrise,
  The forest just before me seemed to call.
I breathed the fresh crisp air that blew around me;
  I could not hide the feeling of it all.

I sprinted forward with anticipation,
  It seemed as if my legs could make me fly,
I followed my own instinct as to where I;
  Would be climbing all the way up to the sky.

As I perched upon the top limb of the tallest tree,
  I looked to the horizon just in time;
The sun shone its ray of brilliant colour,
   The magnificent view was there, it was mine.

I wrote this poem to go to the tune of "Colours of the Wind". I didn't like the lyrics but I liked the tune and I had a beautiful arrangement of the song for piano so I just wrote this poem as my lyrics.

  1. I love the words you put to this song, Nicole. The tune of the song is so pretty. I am glad you put new words to it that are better to listen to. Thanks!!!
